One of my favorite quotes from books I have read is “Make health an aim, normal development cannot be had without regard to the vigor of the body” (Dewey, 1944, p. 115). This statement means that children are unable to develop, learn, grow or become the adults they deserve to be without a quality health. When a child is sick and unable to participate in normal activities, he is missing out on learning opportunities that will help him develop his muscles, brain, and abilities.
